Geschwisterliebe meets… OT

Two is better then one… especially if we are speaking about the two original designers are exposing in the Geschwisterliebe’s windows at the moment, simoultaneously. We already wrote about Marina Doroschkov and her glamorous „upcycling“ of bomber jackets and straws. This time we want to go ahead toward a possible dialogue between art and fashion, placing next to her the work of another fashion artist from Stuttgart: Ot. „Ot“ is a FASHION & ART project, where the street inspirations meet the fashion creation, where the visual art goes together with the production of clothes. Ot is actually Orkan Tan (1993), a young man grown up in Geislingen with Turkish roots who moved to Stuttgart a couple of years ago. Since then Orkan Tan is dedicating all his work to the research of the perfect agreement between fashion and art. The exhibition created for ‚Geschwisterliebe meets Art‚ is the selection of 6 of the 30 drawings he realized next to his last fashion collection, „MUSE„. As he says about it: „This collection is about ART. It’s kind of a reflection of myself, from my visions, emotions and my fears. I like hard contrasts between everything, that why I choose pink and black. Because it’s a big difference […]

Geschwisterliebe meets… „DO NOT DRINK“ by MARINA DOROSCHKOV

A new guest is now presenting her own work in the windows of Geschwisterliebe… Another young designer, a different and original point of view on the ‚ fashion issue ‚ characterized by an extravagant sense of tailoring combined with the pop culture and the re-cycling idea. Marina Doroschkov is a fashion student attending the 6th semester of the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart. 25 years old, with russian origins but grown up in the „Kessel“, she seems having really clear what fashion can mean nowadays. She has realized her project „DO NOT DRINK“ starting from the idea of the „Upcycling„: today, consciously or not, we produce a high quantity of waste materials and just a small part of them can be easily re-integrated in the bio-system. What we can do then of all the rest? A useful solution then could be trying to find a way to re-use them: this is the starting point of Marina, that realized a hyper glamorous solution to re-cycling an object as the plastic straws. Yes, exactly. Those straws we use for drinking our cocktails on the weekend, for the cola we probably had just before and for the cappuccino take away we will grab later […]

GESCHWISTERLIEBE MEETS ART #2 WHO’sNEXT?

Few months after the launch of our project “Geschwisterliebe meets Art”, we are READY for new exciting collaborations to continue the beautiful experience we had so far, with the new exhibitions and guests. The project “Geschwisterliebe meets Art” started last October as an opportunity for creative people to use our Geschwisterliebe shop’s environments to present and show their work of arts and design. Why? We like to see our store as a MELTING POT between young culture, fashion and art. We are curious about what happens around us and we believe in COLLABORATIONS and mutual influences. We love to be inspired and get in touch with NEW IDEAS and different creativities. So far, the special contributions to the project we gladly exposed in our store were: “ANOMALIE”, the suggestive paintings of Frederic Allenberg (School of Design, Pforzheim University); “CIWEN”, the astonishing fashion collection of Rabia Cimen (School of Design, Pforzheim University); “SITZMÖBEL”, design chairs realized by the students of the HFT – Faculty of Architecture, Stuttgart; “MAISON CORINNA HOUIDI” the incredible pieces of the fashion label of Corinna Houidi, Stuttgart. After the positive feedbacks we got from these previous exhibitions, we would like to ask for your collaboration for continuing with new works to bring […]

GESCHWISTERLIEBE MEETS… MAISON CORINNA HOUIDI

We already wrote about our Geschwisterliebe member Corinna and her beautiful fashion project, Maison Corinna Houidi. Since four years, she created an outright label focused so far in the realization of specific haute-couture pieces, such as the Fantôme – a hood – that is at the border between being a piece of clothing and an accessories, a concentrate of innovation and style, street spirit and sophisticated allure. And it’s exactly this kind of particular and accurate attention to details and the will to experiment that brings her work on the edge of something that we can recognize as „art“, and that can match perfectly with the idea behind our „Geschwisterliebe meets art„: original design pieces, from different fields like fashion, architecture, painting and more – able to create new exchanges and mutual influences. But Maison Corinna Houidi is not just about hoods, the same taste and research on the shape, the materials and the couture is also on the backpacks of the collection and – as you can see now on our window – is extending also in complete outfits such as dresses, long vest multi-layers, trousers and capes. The installation in our windows is divided into three part: the first one is an overview on four couture outfits realized by Corinna along the last years and expressing at the […]

Luckily is not the same for everyone and seems that the iconic Californian tennis brand  K•SWISS knows how to keep riding high by all means, always being „hip“.
