Cheap Monday launches exclusive Capsule Collection made of repurposed textiles
Swedish jeanswear brand Cheap Monday launches a limited edition, recycled, handmade collection this FW16.
The Stockholm based brand known for its skinny jeans, unisex appeal and bold, directional fashion collections launches a limited edition handmade collection this October. The collection comprises 4 key pieces made entirely from previously existing textiles that have been deconstructed and recrafted into styles that Cheap Monday is already well recognized for including its ‘Tight’ jeans, Bomber jackets, Sweatshirts and Tees.
The choice to work with and to rework garments that already exist; re-cutting, styling and crafting them into fresh new pieces is the brand’s way to highlight its belief that everyone is able to participate in the sustainable movement in some way. The process to recraft textiles in this manner showcases one of the most effective ways to reduce fashion & textile waste.
The ℅ Cheap Monday (pronounced ‚care of cheap monday‘) capsule collection offers a strong, bold ‘deconstructed-then-reconstructed’ look that delivers a playful take on size and proportion, in-tune with the current appetite for wearable statement pieces that offer a casual but well-thought-out silhouette.
True to the brand’s roots all items in the capsule are unisex and further underline Cheap Monday as a pioneer of genderless fashion since the early 2000s, when it disrupted the market with the original unisex skinny fit jeans ‘Tight’. Dropping in October and priced between EUR 40-160 the collection will be only available via cheapmonday.com as well as the Cheap Monday Store in London Carnaby Street, Nordiska Kompaniet in Stockholm and Geschwisterliebe in Stuttgart.
All items are unisex and one of a kind.
